Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme

It seems the beauty trend from the past couple months and (still on-going) is a hybrid liquid lipstick that has smooth velvety texture and doesn't fully dry down. It's like a whipped liquid lip that's comfortable to wear, totally down with this! NARS launched their Velvet Lip Glides last year which were a hit, Burberry recently launched their version (Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet) and another popular liquid lipstick this past month has been the Marc Jacob Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme. I've seen a handful of people receive them from Influenster (so lucky!) and overall the reviews have been great so I've been intrigued. I decided to try it out myself since it's not like I have too many dusty rose mauve shades right?!
From Sephora's website: Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme is a hydrating, eight-hour wear, full-coverage liquid lipstick. It is formulated with Brazilian cupuacu butter and collagen to add moisture and a smooth creamy texture. It has a light vanilla scent and comes in 6 shades, each 0.19oz for $28.

I purchased the shade "Slow Burn", which is a creamy nude rose. I am really impressed with this liquid lipstick! First of all, I really like the packaging. It's simple but good quality and I like that they have the color of the lipstick on the outside so you don't have to open it to find out which shade it is. Second, I love that this is hydrating on the lips and has that smooth velvety texture (reminds me of NARS Velvet Lip Glides actually). It leaves a subtle satin sheen and doesn't fully dry down but I'm okay with that. My lips felt soft the entire time I wore it. I would agree with the "eight-hour wear" that it claims to have. It stayed on well for hours and didn't become patchy or leave an outline around my lips. I feel that I didn't need to apply a lipliner when using this.

As far as the shade goes, I think its very similar to this past year's popular dusty mauve shade (more mauve than rose on my lips I would say which doesn't really match the shade description or the swatches on my arm). Sometimes it looks too cool-toned on my lips in different lighting, so I'm very interested in checking out the shade "Truth or Bare", which seems to be a little more warm-toned pink and might work better with my skintone. It reminds me of a more cool-toned NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Bound actually (read my review on that here). NARS Bound has a thinner less pigmented formula as you can see from the swatch. Comparing the two formulas, I think I like the Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Creme better, but they are very close.

Overall, I really like this formula and would recommend it to any hydrating liquid lipstick lovers!!

I'm interested in trying the Burberry Liquid Lip Velvets as well. Any "lip velvet" launch this year will be on my list, since I can't stand how drying the normal liquid lipsticks are.

Have you tried these new lippes? If so, let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

I knew it! I also wanted that NARS lippie, it's on my wishlist at Sephora. But when I saw these by MJ, I knew that they would be better. Only problem is that there are two shades that call my eye, this one and one that looks a little deeper. I will have to look for them in person so I can decide. Thanks for the review.

I'm really intrigued by this formula as well as, as you said, the new Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet one! Again as you said, I tend to reach and look for alternatives to the classic liquid lipsticks which look flawless at the beginning of the day yet way too drying at the end of the day! Great review and I will definitely check these lip cremes out!

I totally agree! I'm just not a drying liquid lipstick fan. So glad brands have started to come out with more hydrating formulas. Glad you enjoyed my review! Thanks for reading <3

I love Marc Jacobs products. I am planning on picking up one of these shades tomorrow when I go out and I'm so excited to try the formula. That is a pretty shade you got.
